In the words of Joseph Campbell – “The schizophrenic is drowning in the waters that the mystic swims in with delight”. Perhaps those who explore entheogens are mystics in the making, taking voluntary, temporary excursions into those waters, then once again returning to the shores of consensus reality. This panel explores what happens when a voluntary medicine journey opens or re-opens an involuntary healing process that can last long after the ceremony is over. Panelists will also discuss the potential for enthoegens to be used for healing pre-existing mental health problems, including ones involving psychosis.
